My car is a joke. You all know that I don't take my car seriously at all, having put less than $800 worth of modifications into it during the time I've had it. I first painted it matte black so it would not look like every other Buick LeSabre on the streets, but I've noticed a lot of people (very shittily) rattlecanning their cars matte black and it's no longer as special (yes I'm hipster as fuck) as well as being impossible to keep clean/looking nice. My solution is to piss off Mustang fanboys by painting my car (with plastidip, est. cost $130) in a poorly-done "tribute" to the Shelby Mustang GT500.

Behold my awful 5-minute photoshop:

Not quite grabber blue but the idea is there, and even the "GT500" text is knocked off with my "GM3800" (because if I used horsepower I'd have the very unimpressive "LT210") text.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas? I really want to paint my car either blue or red, but red causes insurance/cop issues (cops around here are supreme assholes).

I love the GT500 tribute! Go for it.

But, actually, I would totally put the text LT210 on the side. It's legit and no one will even care because Murdersofa GT500tributemobile.

Do it blue and find yourself some early 2000's Bonneville SSEi wheels (the 17" mesh ones) and paint them black.

Paint the mirrors black instead of body color.

Take the outer lense off the headlights (bake them in the oven for a few min to soften the glue) and paint the chrome on the inside black. Lightly tint the rear lights (very lightly smoke color) and paint the license plate surround black.

Change out the LeSabre badges for Wildcat badges.

How about yellow? My old boss had a nice 70 Buick painted yellow with black stripes. But then again, then you have to deal with Bumblebee stigma.

I was already thinking black mirrors. I can't actually remove one of my headlights; the plastic snap that holds half of it in place has broken in the "haha you can't get me out" position.

Yeah, I'm not sure about "LT"... I thought of that because it's a LeSabre Limited (fancy, yo) but "LT210" doesn't roll off the tongue particularly easily. Better than GM3800, I agree.

Yeah, I basically just have to get 'Light Blue' plastidip and then layer it on over the black until its the shade I want. Not really an exact science.
